Kevin Krauter

In 2015, Indiana based songwriter Kevin Krauter recorded his debut EP, Magnolia, while attending school in Muncie, IN. The songs were a collection of old demos thrown together into a six-song EP for a friend's semester project. A year later, the same friend approached Krauter with the idea for another six-song project. This time, Krauter had been writing new songs over the past year with the intention of releasing them together on an album.

What resulted was Changes, a cohesive collection of songs that range a multitude of influences from Bossa Nova to Americana. Changes was Krauter’s first attempt at writing and recording a set of songs that flow together thematically while maintaining their own distinctive sound and feeling. The EP was released in December 2016 via Bloomington, IN label Winspear.

Arriving in the summer of 2018 via the Brooklyn, NY label Bayonet Records, comes Kevin Krauter's debut LP Toss Up.

GoldFlakePaint  –  Kevin Krauter : "Rollerskate"

"It's Krauter's way with a melody that has always stood-out, and, in that respect, 'Rollerskate' thrives"

Stereogum  –  Kevin Krauter : “Bachelor”

"Reminds me of A Ghost Is Born-era Wilco or a more melodious Kurt Vile, but delivered with Grizzly Bear's delicate chamber-pop touch. It's really lovely"

My Old Kentucky Blog  –  Premiere : Kevin Krauter : “Nightly”

"The collection of six songs are as confident as they are majestic. You get a bit of Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste in the vocals gliding over ’60s and ’70s-indebted folk instrumentation ideal for reflection."
